Officers 2024-2025

President – Pat Uelmen Huey

A native of Washington DC, Pat has lived in the Atlanta area for 25 years and has spent over 10 of those as a member of Collegium Vocale. She started her professional life in Georgia as a research fellow at the Atlanta VA Hospital, taught Upper Learning science at The Galloway School, and is currently an Assistant Professor of Biology, Chemistry, and Biochemistry at Georgia Gwinnett College, where she is an active member of the United Campus Workers of Georgia labor union. Her prior community connections have included serving as the director of the Hightower Trail Cub Scout Summer Day Camp and as the Decatur Service Unit Director for the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta. Currently she manages Decatur High School softball concessions sales, the proceeds of which benefit the Madison Lewis Softball and Scholarship Fund. In addition to singing with Collegium Vocale, Pat rings with the Tucker First UMC Handbell Choir and practices Star Trek Cruise karaoke on her piano at home.

Executive Vice President – Joe Winter

Joe Winter has been a proud member of Collegium Vocale since 2019 and currently serves as Executive Vice President on the Board. A lifelong choral singer, Joe began performing in high school, where he was selected for the Georgia All-State Chorus for two consecutive years. Since then, he has sung with several notable ensembles, including the Michael O’Neal Singers, Georgia State University Singers, Just Voices, and the DeKalb Choral Guild (now Harmonia Atlanta). Outside of music, Joe is the Director of Technology at Winmo, where he leads strategic and technical initiatives. He brings both his leadership experience and his passion for the arts to his role on the Board.

Vice President (Development) – Cindy Weinbaum

Cindy Weinbaum is a choral music devotee who has been singing with Collegium Vocale since moving to Atlanta 25 years ago. After retiring from a career as medical epidemiologist at the CDC, she enjoys doing pottery and traveling the world (when she isn’t singing).

Vice President (Marketing) – Esther Omene

Esther Omene is an avid music lover. She was born and raised in Lagos Nigeria and moved to metro Atlanta 15 years ago. Esther enjoys music across genres including classical, gospel, R&B, and several African music genres. She sang in her school choirs, college glee club, and with her church worship team. She currently works full time as a software engineer, and she volunteers as an audio engineer at her church. Esther enjoys singing & arranging music, having fun with family and friends, and going to different types of concerts.

Vice President (Operations) – Matt Cowley

Matt Cowley is a new member of CV and the board, but grew up singing in church and school choirs, teenage rock bands and musical theater in northwest Florida.  Since moving to Atlanta to attend Georgia Tech, Matt has been an avid concertgoer of all genres of music.  In the past, he contributed visual design and operations for contemporary chamber ensemble Bent Frequency.  These days, he leads a UX design team in the enterprise software industry and sings and plays music with his family and friends in Decatur.

Secretary – Caroline Coburn

Caroline Coburn has been a member of CV for over 25 years. She has sung in a variety of church and choral groups over the years, the highlight being the opportunity to sing in the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus when Robert Shaw was Conductor. Her full-time job is Associate Professor at Emory School of Nursing, and her other full-time job is husband, sons, daughter-in-law, two cats and a dog.

Treasurer – Marjorie Timmer

If you can breathe, you can sing,” is a governing principle of Marjorie Timmer’s life.  She grew up in Michigan singing barbershop quartet songs with her dad and three sisters on family trips and built on that in school and church choirs over the course of her education.  She moved to Georgia (away from winter!) in the late 70s and continued singing in her church choir while working as a respiratory therapist.  She joined Collegium Vocale in the fall of 2019, and currently serves as its Treasurer.  Happily retired after 45 years in health care, Marjorie enjoys swimming, knitting, playing piano, and rejoicing in the company of her husband, children, and grandchildren.
